Writer Will Boast has experienced more than his fair share of family loss - all before the age of 25. Just a few short years after his mother and younger brother died, he loses his father to alcoholism. Boast always thought he came from an ordinary family, but after his father's death, mysterious secrets start to emerge.
First, he finds out that his father had a whole other family - an ex-wife and two sons living in England. This new information makes Boast realize how little he really knew about his father and he starts to dig deeper to discover the type of boy he was as a child, and the type of man he grew up to be.
In turn, he starts asking himself "big question," like what he really should be doing with his life and how he can bear to ever love again, risking experiencing with another loss. He grapples with questions such as these while still coming to terms with his grief. The result is a poignant memoir that will stick with you even after you finish reading.
