Wendy Williams joins cast of Broadway’s ‘Chicago’

How you doin’, Mama?

Talk show host Wendy Williams announced on her show Monday that she’ll be starring in “Chicago” on Broadway this summer, from June 25-Aug. 11. She’ll play Matron “Mama” Morton for the seven-week stint, the role that Queen Latifah brought to life in the 2002 film.

Williams isn’t the first celeb to grace the “Chicago” stage. Past stars have included Sofia Vergara, Christie Brinkley and Usher.

“I can’t wait to sing and dance while still doing the talk show,”Williams said this morning, joined by two cast members from the Broadway production. As she spoke, she donned a black fedora and did a few dance kicks. “It’s going to be a very busy summer around here,” she said.

Tickets are available at Telecharge.com and ChicagoTheMusical.com.
