The Belchers are finally back this weekend with “The Frond Files.” On a visit to the school, parents Bob and Linda Belcher read their three children’s essays about Wagstaff school. No shocker here: Their rambunctious kids write some outrageously creative and offensive stuff. Sunday, 6 p.m., fox

‘Saturday Night Live’
“Girls” star and creator Lena Dunham will host the late-night sketch comedy show for the first time and test her comedic timing in front of a live audience. Rock ‘n’ roll’s best-dressed slow rockers, The National, will perform as well. Saturday, 11:29 p.m., nbc

‘True Detective’
The breakout thriller’s inaugural season, which showcased Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson’s impeccably profound acting skills, wraps up this weekend. Thanks to a formerly overlooked detail, Hart and Cohle find a new lead in their 17-year-old case. Sunday, 8 p.m., hbo
