With the success of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” Disney is not likely to leave any corner of George Lucas’ galaxy far, far away unexplored — and that includes the era of [shudder] the prequels.
Before you start worrying, the franchise's newest origin story will focus on young Han Solo, and Variety reports the casting shortlist has been narrowed down from thousands to “about a dozen” actors, notably: Scott Eastwood, Dave Franco, Jack Reynor, Ansel Elgort, Miles Teller, Blake Jenner, Emory Cohen and Logan Lerman.
In our opinion, they all seem a little too squeaky clean to play the man who grows up to have shootouts in space bars, but so far there’s no reason to doubt Disney when it comes to finding new talent for this franchise.

And you won’t even have to wait until the movie comes out in May 2018 — Variety’s sources say the early casting has to do with Han Solo making a cameo in the upcoming pre-“A New Hope” movie, “Rogue One.”
