Nothing is official until it is social media official. Just got married? Not until your Facebook status changes. A Will and Grace 10-episode reunion? Twitter might break after hearing the news.

The 16-time Emmy-winning show (nominated for 83, thankyouverymuch!) starring Debra Messing, Eric McCormack, Sean Hayes and Megan Mullally is back for a 10-episode reunion.

“We’re thrilled that one of the smartest, funniest, and most defining comedies in NBC history is coming back,” NBC Entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt said.

“This groundbreaking series for everything from gay rights to social and political commentary — all disguised as a high-speed train of witty pop culture —is coming back where it belongs.”

Vice President Joe Biden even credited the sitcom Will and Grace for educating America on LGBT issues.

The episodes will be a “limited run” during the 2017-2018 season.

But still…

The show debuted in 1998 and became one of the highest-rated sitcoms from 2001–2005. More than 18 million tuned in for its series finale in 2006.

Leslie Jordan, who played Karen Walker’s (Mullally) frenemy, spilled the beans in December, but Messing squashed the news on Twitter saying the idea was just “talk.”

“We started talking with [creators Max Mutchnick and David Kohan] about producing new episodes right after they shot the secret reunion show back in September,” said President of NBC Entertainment Jennifer Salke. “And the fact that all four of the original stars were excited about getting back into production is a testament to the joyful experience they had doing nearly 200 episodes for eight seasons.

“Few things cut through the clutter these days, especially in comedy, and ‘Will and Grace’ is one of the best.”
