Eskimos fan day draws hundreds

Several hundred Eskimo fans took advantage of the nice weather yesterday to spend time with their favourite football team, accepting the club’s invitation for the 2010 Eskimo Fan Day.

Fans were able to see the team kick off the 2010 training camp at Clarke Stadium while enjoying free food, games and entertainment.

After their back-to-back practice, the entire team was available to fans for autographs and pictures.

“It’s a really good chance for fans to meet our players and get to see the new team for 2010,” said Dave Jamieson, Eskimo’s director of communications.

“People get a chance to see what we’re all about and take in a professional football practice.

Even if you don’t know who the players are and don’t follow as closely, it’s a good atmosphere here.”

One of the highlights of the fan appreciation day was the 13th Eskimo sign. The banner, which will be placed below the 13th Eskimo flag at Commonwealth stadium was set up for fans to sign and eternalize love for the team.

The Eskimos will start off this year’s exhibition season on June 13, playing against Calgary at Commonwealth Stadium.
