PRINCE GEORGE, B.C. – Joshua Winquist scored two goals as the Everett Silvertips defeated the host Prince George Cougars 4-3 on Saturday in Western Hockey League action.
Josh Birkholz and Austin Adam each scored for the Silvertips (12-30-9), who jumped one point ahead of Prince George in the Eastern Conference standings.
Greg Fraser, Daulton Siwak and Spencer Asuchak scored for the Cougars (15-31-2), who now sit last place in the entire league.
Kent Simpson made 16 saves for the win while Drew Owlsey turned aside 24 shots in defeat.
Both clubs went 1 for 4 on the power play.
