Ex-coroner accused of indignity to bodies

A former B.C. coroner is facing criminal charges for what police say was the “improper” examination of two female murder victims, RCMP announced on Thursday.

Police began investigating Kenneth Glen Mattinson, 61, in early 2009 when forensic officers at a Langley homicide scene noticed a pattern of “questionable and possibly criminal behaviour,” said RCMP Sgt. Peter Thiessen.

“I can’t imagine how the families would feel, after the murders of their loved ones, about unsettling new allegations such as these,” Thiessen added.
