On Saturday, the world of the hearing will get a chance to experience the world of the deaf at the Alberta School for the Deaf at their Deaf Deaf World.
“It is a really great way to experience a little bit of deaf culture,” said Adrianna O’Regan, with the Alberta Cultural Society of the Deaf.
The school’s gym will be converted into a mini city, complete with a bank, restaurant, grocery store and jail.
Participants must learn to communicate as if they were deaf and will be sent to jail if they use their voices.
It is a donation-based event and will be held between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
