Fantasy football Week 9 advice: Add Alfred Morris, Vernon Davis, Dede Westbrook

As the NFL season progresses, more and more shake ups occur on fantasy rosters due to injuries, trades and suspensions.

As Week 9 is about to kick off, those looking to nab a high-impact player off the waiver wire do have some pretty good options. Here’s a look at the five best pick ups prior to the next week of action:

Alfred Morris, Darren McFadden, RB, Cowboys

If you own Ezekiel Elliott, get on this right now. Both will split carries when Dalls hits the field without their star running back, who will likely (yes, we know we’ve said it before) begin serving his six-game suspension this week. Morris will be 1a and McFadden — who has been inactive this year — will be 1b. Keep an eye on the rotation and workload if the suspension continues.

Vernon Davis, TE, Redkins

With Jordan Reed, Kirk Cousins’ favorite target expected to miss Week 9, Davis will be a good pick up for owners in need of a tight end. He already has 319 yards and a score as the back up and will get even more targets in the Washington offense this coming week.

Ed Dickson, TE, Panthers

A similar situation to the Skins, Carolina will be without Greg Olsen for another week. Dickson had four catches last week, and now with Kelvin Benjamin traded to the Bills Dickson could be a key target for Cam Newton next week.

Dede Westbrook, WR, Jaguars

Are you really looking for a sleeper? Why not pick up Jacksonville pass-catcher Westbrook, fresh off the IR. All indications are that he will make his season debut in Week 9, and with top receiver Marquise Lee questionable, his role could be as Blake Bortles second option after Allen Hurns. It’s a high risk but potentially high reward move for desperate owners.
