Fashion disasters! The worst-dressed at the 2014 Golden Globes

So much time, money and energy go into dressing celebrities at the Golden Globes. And yet these gowns failed to hit the fashion mark at Sunday night’s awards —or any mark at all. Here are the worst-dressed at the 71st annual Golden Globe Awards.

Sandra Bullock had a rare red carpet misstep in this Prabal Gurung tricolor gown, although her hair, makeup and skin were close to perfection. The same goes for the usually fashionable Heidi Klum, whose bangs would have been noteworthy if her bad, bad pick of this Marchesagown —complete with a choker (!) — didn’t overwhelm them.

Reese Witherspoon kept things a bit too simple in her pick of this boring teal Calvin Klein dress, while Zooey Deschanel was twee overload in this Oscar de la Renta ensemble.

Jennifer Lawrence will probably hit some best-dressed lists in her usual choice of Dior but Lawrence, who went on to win for Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture, picked heavy accessories that overwhelmed her natural beauty. Elisabeth Moss’s J Mandel floor-length gown would have been OK in a different color —and with a different makeup choice for the fair star. She looked positively gothic when she accepted her award for Best Actress in a Mini-Series or TV Movie for “Top of the Lake.”

Hayden Panettiere wore a gown by Tom Ford (which she apparently had to beg for) with her hair done by what looks like a dip in the swimming pool. And Robin Thicke better watch out —it looks like Paula Patton’s date to the event was her dress’s giant ruffle.

But the biggest loser of the night was Zoe Saldana, who saidthat Prabal Gurung called her, saying she’s the only one he could see wearing this dress. Apparently, the 12-year-old girl from 1997 he originally picked out to wear it passed.
