Father dragged by Boston school bus driver: Video

A Boston bus driver was placed on leave Thursday afternoon after he allegedly dragged the father of one of his young passengers as the man grasped onto the vehicle’s sidemirror.

“I physically got in the front of the bus and said, ‘Please give me my daughter, I need to take her home.’ He then pressed on the gas. I then grabbed onto the mirror. I was holding on for dear life,” James Burdett, 23, told FOX 25. “I thought I was going to die.”

Burdett is seen clinging to the moving bus in the video below, and told Fox he was dragged about two blocks by the bus while his 5-year-old daughter screamed at the driver that he was indeed her father.

It’s not yet clear what sparked the incident.

There were five children on the bus at the time, according to the report.

“The Boston Public Schools does not tolerate any kind of behavior that places people’s lives in danger or compromises public safety,” Boston Public Schools spokesperson Dan O’Brien told the network.

No charges were filed against the men as of Friday afternoon, though police continue to investigate the incident. The bus driver has not been identified.
