Finance and fun

Smartly modern furnishings, hardwood floors and innovative designs capture the essence of modernity at Couture, the latest development by Monarch.

Situated at Bloor and Jarvis close to both finance and fun, Couture offers easy access to the thriving parts of Toronto life coupled with the pleasures of fine condominium living.

Interior designer Mike Niven, who designed all the public spaces in the building, says Couture takes its cues more from European styling than anything North American in nature.

“The presentation of the building is sort of a slick fashion-forward idea — it’s something that would come out of Europe more than Toronto,” Niven said.

Clean lines dominate with a black-and-white theme accentuated by lighting features resembling dropping pins in the lobby while exotic woods and porcelains add a touch of deep-seated elegance. Rather than be garish and trendy, Niven says the goal was to maintain
a sense of class and drama while staying current.

“We want to go after something that’s modern and timeless. We’re slightly playing with that sophistication — we’re going to keep it pretty clean and modern. It’s going to have a highly dramatic feel,” Niven said.

The Niven-designed two-bedroom plus den showpiece suite features rich granite countertops and stainless steel appliances and is appointed in chic greys to counterpoint the dark laminate floors.

Suites come in one bedroom, one bedroom plus den, two bedroom and two bedroom plus den suites and range from 557 to 977 square feet. Prices start at $270,000 and Monarch is offering a limited-time savings of $30,000 off the purchase price of any suite.
