New York City’s first lady announced her former chief of staff Rachel Noerdlinger would be replaced by Roxanne John, who previously served as director for Gracie Mansion.

The appointment comes after months of scandalous accusations levied against Noerdlinger credibility when DNAinfo reported the former aide to the Rev. Al Sharpton was living in New Jersey under reportedly false pretenses andwith a live-in boyfriend previously convicted of manslaughter and drug trafficking.

Noerdlinger took a leave of absence in mid November from the $170,000-a-year job so as to not “be a distraction” for the administration.

John, her replacement, was named executive director for Gracie Mansion only three months ago, and will stay in the Upper East Side in her new capacity. The marketing pro previously served as a vice president for an international conference provider.

In a statement, McCray said that both John and new Deputy Chief of Staff Jackie Bray will help implement new initiatives next year on issues including mental health, domestic violence and education.

McCray also uploaded a video to her YouTube and Tumblr “#FLONYC” accounts touting her and her family’s accomplishments during their first year in City Hall.

“We’re only getting started,” McCray said in the video.
