Despite initial reports that first lady Melania Trump and youngest son Barron would finish the school year in New York City before joining President Donald Trump in the White House, that might not happen after all.

A source familiar with the family told Us Weekly that Melania and Barron, 10, will wait until the end of the school year to decide.

“They will re-evaluate toward the end of the school year if they will keep this arrangement or if Melania and Barron will move to Washington,” the source said.”They could go either way right now. They will ultimately do what’s best for Barron.”

It seems the president doesn’t mind, though. ABC’s David Muir asked Trump after his swearing-in ceremony if the White House is lonely without his third wife and youngest child.

“No, because I end up working longer. And that’s OK,” he replied. “I’m working long hours. I mean, the country has a lot of problems.”

The first family is certainly bucking with tradition here. But after the election, sources said Melania and Barron grew closer during the campaign, which was reportedly difficult for the youngest Trump child.

Mother and son are still residing at the family’s gilded apartment in Trump Tower as Barron attends ColumbiaGrammar and Preparatory School on the Upper West Side, where he is in the fourth grade.
