Following golden rule, bus driver earns praise

Transit He went above and beyond the duties of a bus driver much to the delight of a Calgary father and son.

Robert Tang Kong was pleasantly surprised when a Calgary transit bus driver left his 18-year-old son’s lost wallet in their mailbox a day after he left it on a southwest bus.

“We couldn’t believe it when we checked the mail and the wallet was there with everything in it. It’s a really good feeling, he definitely went above and beyond,” Tang Kong said.

Tang Kong was so appreciative he emailed Calgary Transit with accolades for the driver.

“We just wanted to say thank you,” Tang Kong said.

For his part, third-year Calgary transit driver Garry Goddard said he would do the same for anyone.

“I think it’s just the right thing to do. I’m part of the church and we’re just taught to do unto others as they do to us,” he said.
