The Truro Bearcats are taking a shot at a Maritime Junior A Hockey League title, and a trio of veteran Halifax Mooseheads castoffs are leading their charge.
Ben MacAskill is the team’s captain and leads Bearcats defencemen with three goals and 15 assists in 27 games, while hard-hitting forward Eric Louis-Seize has suddenly found an offensive touch and is second in team scoring with 30 points in 26 games.
Yuri Cheremetiev, who joined the Bearcats after being cut by the Titan earlier this month, already has three goals and an assist in four games.
