Former State Rep. Indicted for failing to provide campaign reports

A former state representative from South Boston was indicted on Thursday on charges he failed to report campaign contributions properly.

According to Attorney General Martha Coakley, Brian Wallace didn’t preserve expense records stemming from contributions in 2008, totaling more than $6,000.

When asked by the Office of Campaign and Political Finance to provide backup documentation, he couldn’t, according to Coakley.

Wallace represented the Fourth Suffolk District in the House from 2003 to January 2011. He retired after his term expired this year.

Wallace’s former campaign treasurer Timothy Duross was indicted as well.

Candidates and their treasurers are required by law to accurately record campaign contributions and preserve all records of expenses.
