Four injured, one critically, in Manhattan car crash

Cops shoot, kill man after he allegedly reaches for gun in Queens

A bloody Manhattan crash early Wednesday morning has left one woman fighting for her life.

Just after 2 a.m., a Department of Transportation truck hit the Honda Civic driver, whose car was hit with such force that it was dragged into a parked taxi nearby, NBC4 reported. The Murray Hill accident around East 34th Street and Third Avenue caused a total of four injuries.

Ell Ian, a witness who had been at a lounge nearby when he saw the crash, told the New York Post, “There were two males, Asian guys…. there was a lot of blood, blood all over, especially the driver – his chest, his face, his tongue.” Ian said he dashed to the scene to help victims while waiting for emergency vehicles to arrive.

Another witness, Donald Johnson, manager of an Insomnia Cookies store, said the Honda was driving at dangerously high speeds, running lights at around 120 mph, the Post reported.

The four injured individuals were rushed to Bellevue Hospital. Authorities are still investigating the details of the crash, and no arrests have yet been made.
