Fox & Friends gives leggings debate the pervert angle it didn’t need

Want to talk about leggings with a big helping of sexism and undertones of perversion?

Fox & Friends did just that in a segment this morning, flagged up byMedia Matters,featuring a panel made up of Willie Robertson of the TV show “Duck Dynasty,”Foxlegal analystArthur Aidala and Andrew Sansone, who as far as we can tell just happened to be in the studio at the time.Co-host Steve Doocy doesn’t exactly stand on the sidelines, either.

Except their topic wasn’t whether women should wear leggings. No, it was whether, as fathers (this was their “expert qualification” to be on the panel) they would allow their daughters to wear leggings to school.

Should’ve stuck with grown women, because as you can imagine things get very, very twisted.

The name of the segment was “Getting a Leg Up,” and we can only hope the implication of school-age girls wearing leggings to get favors in the classroom was not intentional.

Shockingly, the bottom line on leggings (for women, because by the end they’ve abandoned any pretense of remembering the topic is actually about school-age girls) is not modesty, or comfort, but how attractive the woman is. “God bless you, you’ve worked out, you’ve earned that,” Aidala says.
