A promise to his late wife to raise money for the cause and build a legacy for his five-year-old daughter drove Lyall Marshall to create the Face Off Against Cancer fundraiser.
Four years later, the fundraiser is approaching a total of $1 million for research and support for Albertans living with Cancer.
This year, Marshall is raising money for Ryan Westerman and his daughter, a volunteer whose wife was also stricken with cancer. The tournament hopes to raise almost $200,000.
“It’s looking like a tremendous milestone, I’m pretty elated,” Marshall said.
Notable participants include Cory Cross, Terry Johnson and Global Calgary’s Grant Pollock.
