As the Television Critics Association press tour slowly, finally, draws to a close, FX took over for a day of programming, beginning with John Landgraf, CEO of FX, who touted the network’s prestige programming. He’s so proud of his network’s achievements, he’d even come up with slides demonstrating how close behind HBO FX was in the number of top ten lists they’d ended up on this year.

He also announced that both “Tyrant” and “The Strain” would be coming back for second seasons, and shared the premiere date for “Louie,” which will return April 9 at 10:30 p.m. It will be followed by new show “The Comedians,” which stars Josh Gad and Billy Crystal as fictionalized versions of themselves forced to work together on a sketch show. Longtime Louis C.K. collaborator Pamela Adlon will be getting her own show, “Better Things,” which C.K. will help produce and direct.

Landgraf also referenced Kurt Sutter’s departing “Sons of Anarchy,” saying how much he’d miss the program. Sutter has a new show coming up on FX called “Bastard Executioner,” which will “reinvent knight and sword drama,” per Landgraf. It shoots in Wales this spring.

And to stave off concerns about your favorite spy drama, Landgraf said he hoped “The Americans” could go on for five seasons or so. We’re just hoping Philip and Elizabeth get to take on the 90s.

“Americans” star Matthew Rhys came up during the “Archer” panel, which was one of the more informal panels of the week, with stars Judy Greer, H. Jon Benjamin, and Aisha Tyler going off on a tangent about feminine hygiene products and bike riding (it’s possible you had to be there for that one). Rhys joined “Archer” execs Matt Thompson and Casey Willis on a bus to the Super Bowl last year, and regaled them with a tale about the fight of Welsh separatists, resulting in an episode of “Archer” where Rhys will be playing a Welsh separatist.

Other “Archer” highlights include learning that Thompson and Willis occasionally have to explain some of the show’s dirtier jokes to “Arrested Development” star Jessica Walter, and that Aisha Tyler’s Lana’s parents will be introduced this season, played by C.C.H.Pounder and Keith David. “Fargo” star Allison Tolman will pop up as Pam’s sister, Edie. The show will be returning for a seventh season.
