‘Game of Thrones’ ice cream bike tour rolls into Boston

Game of Thrones Night King Winter

You don’t need to head north of The Wall to enjoy some frozen treats this summer, as locals are organizing a pretty sweet “Game of Thrones” event.

A Game of Cones bike tour will roll into Boston on Aug. 27, where fans of the HBO series can show off their “GOT” pride while munching on some of the city’s best ice cream. The festivities will include stops at several area creameries before converging at an after-party, where participants will get to choose which shop will be crowned Cone of The North.

According to the event’s page, tickets to the event are $25, which includes pre-paying for the ice cream as well as beer for those who are old enough. Attendees will meet at Copley Square prior to departing for the tour at noon.

Bikers will be split into several groups as they tour the different ice cream shops around the city. Participating creameries include FoMu in the South End, Gracie’s in Union Square, Honeycomb Creamery in Porter Square, J.P. Licks in Jamaica Plain, Molly Moo’s in South Boston and Toscanini’s in Central Square.

After filling up on all that ice cream fans will then gather at Flat Top Johnny’s in Kendall Square at 5 p.m. so they can have a sip while deciding which establishment will take home the Iron Cone. Since the event is on a Sunday, organizers are hoping everything will be wrapped up before the new episode of “Game of Thrones” airs on HBO that night.

Participants are encouraged to wear costumes–as long as they don’t get caught in people’s bike gears–and the folks behind the event are asking that minors be accompanied by an adult during the day of fun. Additionally, each ticket is good for one scoop at each participating shop and a rain date is planned for Sept. 3.
