A new language course will soon be available for those eager to unleash their inner Khal Drogo by learning a little Dothraki. David J. Peterson, the linguist who works on all the fictional languages for HBO’s “Game of Thrones,” worked with Living Languages to create a guide with 500 words and phrases. The guide is called “Living Language Dothraki: A Conversational Language Course Based on the Hit Original HBO Series Game of Thrones.” Will the title be translated into Dothraki, as well?

For those afraid of offending, there will even be cultural notes about how to avoid an embarrassing faux pas in the language. (Here’s a hint: Don’t imply someone needs to walk instead of ride a horse.) Worried about forgetting that all-important phrase when you’re out and about with your Dothraki chums? Not to worry, there’s a mobile app for that. The guide will be available October 7, and can also be obtained via actual physical book (far more period appropriate) or an expanded online version.
