Gatineau teen, firefighter hurt in house blaze

A 17-year-old boy suffered smoke inhalation and a firefighter was injured after a fire broke out in Gatineau yesterday morning.

Just before 11 a.m., a fire broke out in a home in the 100 block of Dumas Street, where a 17-year-old male suffered smoke inhalation injuries, paramedics said.

The boy’s sister and mother, who were also in the house, were not injured.

A Gatineau firefighter also suffered an eye injury while fighting the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
