‘Ghostbusters’ calling all Boston-area metalheads for a Wang Theatre shoot

Like “Ghostbusters?” Look kind of like a metalhead? Have a day you can spend kicking it on a movie set? Can you email things to people?

Then get your black duds — or flannel, gray or “midnight” ones, according to an extras recruiter’s website – ready and sign up for your shot at silver screen immortality.

Producers for the blockbuster, currently being filmed in Boston, this week announced a call-out for an army of metal-ish folks under 35 for a concert scene at the Wang Theatre next week.

The Hollywood reboot stars Kristin Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jonesand will allegedly feature a cameo from Dan Aykroyd. They’re in Boston pretending they’re in New York because Massachusetts offers a generous tax incentives for filmmaking.

Recruiters said they would pick 600 extras for the shoot beginning on Monday, which gives Boston another way to participate in the filming bonanza happening around town that isn’t just gawking from street corners or sitting less-than-patiently in all the extra traffic.

Over the past few weeks of filming, security has frowned on people who stand around too long near sets, but sign up and they’ll pay you to be there.

For eight hours of hanging around and rubbing shoulders with the stars, you’ll get $72, with the possibility of overtime if the shoot takes more than eight hours. Plus, according to their website, they’re even throwing in snacks and a “box lunch.”
