The Giants aren’t exactly on a highway to Santa Clara, but Thursday night’s win over the division rival Redskins was certainly a step in the right direction. The G-Men trumped Washington, 32-21, to improve to 1-2 on the 2015 season. The Redskins are now also 1-2 in the lowly NFC East.

Odell Beckham Jr.’s pretty 30-yard touchdown grab with 13:39 left in the fourth quarter put the Giants up 19 points.

The Giants initially jumped out to a 12-0 lead after one quarter as Rashad Jennings blocked a Redskins punt and it resulted in a safety when it went out of the back of the end zone. Prince Amukamara soon-after jumped a route ran by Pierre Garcon and got himself an easy pick that led to an Andre Williams 1-yard touchdown run, and Josh Browns’ 35-yard field goal accounted for the first quarter dozen for New York. Uani Unga also picked off Washington QB Kirk Cousins, with his INT coming in the third quarter when the Redskins were driving and looking to close an 18-6 gap.

New York held Washington to a pair of second quarter field goals before both teams had something of a scoring flurry in the fourth quarter. Washington’s Chris Thompson had a four-yard TD grab and Rashad Ross had a 101-yard kickoff return for a touchdown. Sandwiched in between those scores was a 41-yard touchdown catch by the Giants’ Rueben Randle.

Eli Manning was an efficient 23-of-32 for 279 yards, two TDs and zero picks.
