The Giants (4-6) match up with the Cowboys (5-5) in a game that went from meaningless just a few weeks ago to suddenly critical in the NFC East race. The first-place Eagles sit this week out, so the winner will be just one back in the division with five games left to play.
Metro looks at three things to watch for in Sunday’s game (4:25 p.m., FOX):
1. All hands on deck
When the injury report was filed on Thursday, the Giants were in the enviable position of listing no players under out or did not practice. That includes Corey Webster, who has not played since Oct. 6, and would be a valuable boost to the secondary.
2. See for Miles
Speaking of Webster, he may be matched up with Miles Austin, who appears ready to return and play for the first time since Week 7. He’s played in just five games this season with hamstring issues and has only 15 catches. Bad news for Giants fans, 10 of those 15 catches came in the season opener against New York. And with a healthy Austin, Dez Bryant and Terrance Williams also become more potent.
3. Windy weather
The discussion at Tom Coughlin’s Thursday press conference is rarely about wind conditions on Sunday, but it was this week. Punter Steve Weatherford struggled in the wind two weeks ago and Coughlin was asked if he’s worried. He said he’s entrusting his punter, but it’s something to watch.
