The Spice Girls are apparently eyeing a reunion. And as a person who still listens to the seminal albums Spice and Spice World, that is very good news. Like, iconic!
Because a Spice Girls reunion isn’t a Spice Girls reunion with every damn Spice, Mel C. has reportedly been working with Simon Fuller — the girl group’s former boss — to bring Victoria Beckham, Mel B, Emma Bunton and Geri Horner (formerly known as Geri Halliwell) back together. According to Elle UK, they’re apparently eyeing a one-off special and a compilation record in 2018.
To be fair, every time there are talks of a reunion, Beckham — who, as Posh spice offered the least, but now in 2017 is somehow the most famous of the five — shuts it down. Earlier this year, she said on the Today show that their reunion at the Olympics was basically enough.
“When we performed at the Olympics, it was so great, and that was us celebrating everything we’d achieved… I think you need to know when it’s time to actually say, ‘That was great, we achieved a lot’ and everybody moves on.”
Well, Posh, I must say — moving on is for suckers. Give the people what they want!
