The “Girls” are going on a road trip. Hannah’s trying to wake up Adam so they can go and get Jessa. Adam has to come because Hannah’s only 24 and she can’t rent a car. Adam and Hannah pick up Shoshanna and unfortunately for Adam, the girls know every word to “One More Night” by Maroon 5. Adam punches out the stereo system to make it stop. He doesn’t get why they’re going to pick up Jessa and he doesn’t think it will help her recover. Hannah tells him he doesn’t understand female friendship. He responds, “I don’t want to if it involves ignoring all logic and being totally hysterical.” Adam also adds that women engage in a vortex of guilt and jealous that keeps them from thinking clearly.
At the rehab center, Jessa tells her British man-friend that she was in solitary for hours and yells at him for not saving her. Luckily, there was no lock on the door.
Adam, Shoshanna and Hannah are at a diner and discussing their favorite utensils, at Shoshann’s prompting. Shoshanna won’t order anything because they don’t list the calories on the menu. Hannah is “really, really not hungry” so she just orders pancakes, turkey bacon and a milkshake. She steps out to call Marnie, who is moving into her new apartment, or her new “s–box,” as Marnie’s mother calls it. Marnie and Hannah argue because Hannah left her out from the road trip up to Jessa’s rehab.
Hannah leaves the diner with a doughnut while Shoshanna’s souvenir is a rocking chair. In the car, Hannah whines about the fact that this trip isn’t giving her enough grist to write about. Later, in a motel room, Shoshanna wants to play truth or dare. Adam doesn’t know how to play. Shoshanna dares him to kiss Hannah and with that the game is over and Adam turns out the lights. Adam tries to get Hannah to have sex with him because apparently, he can’t sleep until he has an orgasm, but she doesn’t want to since Shoshanna is in the room, and can also hear their entire conversation.Shoshanna leaves and Hannah finds her after she’s done having sex. Shoshanna says she’s not worried about Jessa because she got a lot of money from her dissolved marriage and rehab is a “rite of passage,” anyway. Hannah argues back that Jessa is a very sad person, and tells her about the time she visited Jessa when she was sick and she overheard Jessa crying alon. Marnie agrees it’s a sad story but says Hannah is probably remembering it wrong and she was the one who was crying. The crew still hasn’t made it to Jessa’s rehab center, but Adam pulls over the car so they can go hiking. Hannah stays behind.
Jessa’s British manfriend comes to visit her in her bedroom and says “we were always going to f–” and tries to jump on her – he wants to do it before she leaves. Jessa pushes him off in disgust as he shakes around because he’s almost out of his stash of prescription meds. Hannah, Adam and Shoshanna finally make it to the rehab center, where the director informs Hannah that Jessa’s been kicked out for intense sexualized socializing, among other things. Hannah becomes furious when she finds out the rehab staffers offered to drive Jessa to a nearby airport and that she didn’t really have to drive here to pick her up. She yells at Jessa for ditching her and Jessa tries to smooth things over by complimenting Hannah’s hair. Hannah tells her, “This haircut happened during a very challenging time that you weren’t present for” and that she questions the haircut every day. They hug it out. On the way home, Shoshanna is listening to “One More Night” on her headphones and quietly singing along and Jessa rests her head on Hannah’s shoulder as they embark on the long ride home.
