Family and friends mourned a 92-year-old Holocaust survivor who was hit and killed by a man parking is SUV over the weekend.
Gitzella Katz, 92, a native of Hungary, survived Auschwitz, her family told the Daily News. She and her daughter, 68, were hit by a man on Saturday night in front of 91 Clymer Street.
The two women were crossing the street in between cars when a 2012 Toyota Highlander, driven by a 26-year-old man, backed into a parking spot. He struck the two women. The 68-year-old daughter was hospitalized in stable condition, but Katz was declared dead when she was brought into Bellevue.
Her husband, who died 10 years ago, also survived the Holocaust.
The driver of the Highlander was not charged.
