Give blood and get chance at Senators ticket at donation drive

Blood donors who give at a blood donor clinic held at Scotiabank Place this Friday will also be receiving — a chance to win two tickets to a Sens game, that is.

Held from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., the Canadian Blood Services’ Ottawa Senators blood donor clinic will give all donors a chance to win two tickets to see the Ottawa Senators play the Montreal Canadians on Dec. 8.

On average, every 60 seconds someone in Canada requires blood or blood products, and this year, Canadian Blood Services must collect 99,900 units of blood in the North/East Ontario region to meet hospital demand, said Steve Tipman, director of donor and clinic services for the North/East Ontario and Nunavut region.

“Every donation saves or improves the lives of three people,” said Tipman.

Appointments can be scheduled by calling 1-888-2-DONATE. Walk-ins and first-time donors are also welcome.
