G&M hires KPMB Architects for headquarters

TORONTO – The Globe and Mail said Tuesday it has selected Kuwabara Payne McKenna Blumberg Architects to design its new headquarters in downtown Toronto.

The media company will be housed in a six-story podium at the northwest corner of Front St. and Spadina Ave., and linked to an 18-story multi-tenant building.

The 480,000-square foot complex is scheduled to open in late 2015.

KPMB has worked on numerous projects in Canada including the TIFF Bell Lightbox, Canada’s National Ballet School in Toronto, as well as the Canadian Museum of Nature in Ottawa.
