Golden Globes 2013 red carpet trends

Stars hit the 2013 Golden Globes red carpet in plunging necklines, glamorous ball gowns and a healthy dose of sizzling red and feminine lace. We take a look at some of the night’s biggest trends.

Take the plunge

Katharine McPhee, what nice, um, eyes you have. The actress, in a Theyskens’ Theory gown with plunging neckline, said she wanted to be “sexy” this year. Mission accomplished.

You really blew it, Will Arnett. Amy Poehler killed it on the red carpet
in a Stella McCartney tuxedo and on stage with zingers like
“That was Hilary Clinton’s husband!”

Kate Hudson, in Alexander McQueen, was working another big trend of the night: full sleeves.

Pretty in pale pink

Amy Adams described the color of her pale Marchesa gown as “ballet pink.”

“It’s tight. It’s lacy. That’s all there is to it,” Megan Fox said of her blush Dolce & Gabbana gown.

It was a good night for Amanda Seyfried. The actress told Ryan Seacrest she found out while getting ready that she gets to keep her Givenchy gown.

Poofy gowns

We would have loved to see Lena Dunham, one of the night’s big winners, in something a bit less mother-of-the-bride than this Zac Pozen gown.

Lucy Liu’s prince is parking out back. The actress wore a statement-making Carolina Herrera gown.

Zooey Deschanel stayed true to her retro heart in this debutante-esque Oscar de la Renta gown.
