Good job ‘Game of Thrones’ fans, you stopped watching porn for an hour

game of thrones pornhub, porn games of thrones, games of thrones porn

Good job guys, it looks like a few of you managed to peel your eyes away from watching internet porn watching long enough to watch the hour-long Game of Thrones season 7 premiere on Sunday.

Give yourselves a pat on the back.

It turns out if there’s anything that can distract people from watching porn, it’s “Game of Thrones,” which makes sense considering many of the episodes contain graphic scenes of sex and violence anyway.

The highly anticipated “Game of Thrones” Season 7 premiere on Sunday caused a 4.5 dip in traffic on Pornhub during the airing from 9 to 10 p.m. That’s a considerable change to the number of visitors on the popular porn website, statisticians noted, as Sunday night is typically one of the most popular times for people to watch porn on Pornhub. That’s the most ever for a “Game of Thrones” premiere, though the biggest drop ever in Pornhub traffic correlating with “Game of Thrones” happened on June 26, 20, 6 during the season 6 finale.

Though notable, Pornhub viewers are actually more likely to be distracted by football, basketball and (believe it or not) politics than they are by “Game of Thrones.”

Pornhub visitors dropped by a whopping 27 percent on Feb. 5 during Super Bowl Li when comparing traffic to an average Sunday.

Game 5 of the NBA finals on June 12 was also a major traffic deterrent on Pornhub, which saw traffic dip by 17 to 21 percent during the game time when compared to an average Monday.

Even the James Comey Senate hearing on June 8 caused a bigger drop in traffic to Pornhub in the Washington area when compared to a typical Thursday. The porn site saw a 10 percent drop in visitors at 10 a.m. when the testimony began.

Pornhub saw big spikes in traffic at the conclusion of both the NBA and NFL games. After losing, Cavaliers fans apparently felt the need to make themselves feel better, causing a 28 percent jump in traffic in the Cleveland Area. Nationwide there was a 9 percent jump in porn traffic on Pornhub at the conclusion of Super Bowl Li.

There was no such spike after the “Game of Thrones” premiere, which probably means people were pretty satisfied with the show.

Pornhub plans to track visitors throughout the 10-episode season.

Stay tuned to see what happens this year.
