A Manhattan teacher’s aide is no longer facing charges of sex abuse and endangering the welfare of a child.
Hany Abdalla, a paraprofessional at PS 84 on the Upper West Side, was accused of making an inappropriate sexual comment to a student on school grounds, according to Marge Feinberg, a spokesperson for the Department of Education. Abdalla, 35, had been working in the classroom since 2007.
The charges against him were dropped Thursday night after his colleagues and some students refuted the accusations to police, according to DNAinfo.
“Based on the information I have, there were serious questions about the validity of the accusations,” Abdalla’s attorney, Virginia LoPreto, said.
