Happy TV shows streaming now on Netflix

Last week’s election was rough for a lot of people and many are still going through the different stages of the grieving process: denial and isolation, anger and bargaining, depression and acceptance. No matter what stage you’re in, Netflix has enough feel-good television to turn that frown upside down. From throwback hits like “Friends” and “Cheers” to current cartoon favorites like “Family Guy,” here are our top picks to tickle your funny bone:

“Friends”

If you miss the ’90s, living vicariously through Rachel, Monica and the rest of the gang on “Friends” is the perfect way to get there. The theme song in itself is enough to put you in a good mood, and somehow, never seems to get old. Binge watch the entire series during these dark times and remember that “Friends” will always be there for you.

“Cheers”
One of the most popular shows of all time, most of the action takes place in a bar called “Cheers,” owned by ex-baseball player Sam Malone, played by Ted Danson. Over its 11 seasons, the quirky cast has included stars like Rhea Perlman, Kirstie Allie, Kelsey Grammer and more.

“Family Guy”
This animated adult series is now in its 15th season and focuses on the Griffin family — Peter, Lois, Meg, Chris, Stewie and their talking dog Brian. Running themes include Stewie trying to take over the world and humorous commentary on current events.
