An 11-day-old eaglet died in front of thousands of Internet users after getting tangled in its mother’s feathers.
Since the birth of Echo on Hornby Island, the eaglet has been an instant Internet celebrity by way of a camera set up by the Hancock Wildlife Foundation.
The webcam was installed to monitor three nesting pairs of bald eagles in the south coast.
Last week viewers watched helplessly as the mother hopped around the nest trying to shake Echo loose.
Echo died a few hours after falling to the ground when his mother took flight.
