The Creative Arts Emmys, the slightly more junior Emmys that people don’t really watch because fewer famous people are involved, were handed out on Saturday. They honor more technical work, including casting, editing and art direction. The big winner? HBO, which won 15 total awards, including one for the casting of their hit mystery show, “True Detective.” Of course, when you cast this year’s best actor Oscar winner, you’re probably in good shape. The two leads, Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson, will go up against each other for acting Emmys next Monday. The second biggest winner was NBC.

“Orange Is the New Black” won the casting award for a comedy series, another not-too-surprising win, since the show has been widely praised for the diversity and quality of its large cast. Uzo Aduba, who plays Crazy Eyes on the show, took home an Emmy for guest actress in a comedy series. Jimmy Fallon took home the men’s equivalent of the award for his stint guest-hosting “Saturday Night Live.”

On the dramatic side, Joe Morton won for guest actor on a drama series for his turn as Rowan on “Scandal” and Allison Janney won for her role as Margaret Scully on “Masters of Sex.”

Other winners include Jane Lynch won for best host of a reality series, for “Hollywood Game Night,” and Zach Galifianakis and his team for “Short-Form Live-Action Entertainment Program” for the episode of “Between Two Ferns” where he interviewed the president.

Neil deGrasse Tyson fans should also be pleased: The revamped “Cosmos” took home a few awards for its writing and music, including one for Ann Druyan, Carl Sagan’s widow.

The rest of the Emmys will be handed out next Monday in a ceremony hosted by “Late Night” host Seth Meyers. The full list of the Creative Arts winners can be found on the Emmy website.
