Would you go on a Pokemon Go-esque scavenger hunt if the prize were free burritos every week for a whole year? Surely that’s more of an incentive than capturing Pikachus.
Dos Toros has devised such a challenge for Snapchat-savvy burrito lovers in NYC but instead of gyms, you’ll be visiting Dos Toros storefronts.
To celebrate the opening of its first Chicago location, the popular fast-casual chain is offering New Yorkers the chance to win roundtrip tickets for two to the Windy City, and a Dos Toros Black Card loaded up with the dollar amount of weekly burritos for a year.
Here’s how it works: Beginning Monday, July 10, at 10:30 a.m., through July 23, at 11 p.m., New Yorkers can participate in the brand’s “13 in 13” Snapchat challenge. Visit any of the 13 Dos Toros stores in New York City during that 13-day window and take a selfie using the store’s custom Snapchat geofilter. You don’t even have to buy anything, just take your pic, screenshot it and either email it to MyBurritoDay@dostoros.com or share it on Instagram, tagging @DosToros and #MyBurritoDay.
You’re eligible for one entry per Dos Toros location, and the more you visit — providing proof via Snapchat screenshots, obvs — the better chances you have of winning. Think of it as a game of Burrito Go! Gotta snap ‘em all to eat ‘em all.
There are two Brooklyn locations and 11 in Manhattan, all within a subway ride away from each other, so looks like you’ll have to straphang to get to them all. Unless you want to hoof it and turn it into a day-long epic fitness challenge? One virtue of the Pokemon Go craze was that it doubled as a workout.
While only one contestant will win the two round-trip tickets from NYC timed with Dos Toros’ August launch in Chicago, an additional 10 black cards will be given out at random to participants who complete the challenge. More info here.
