Police have charged a Fire Department EMT once honored at the FDNY’s prestigious Medal Day with being a serial rapist whose spree of armed sexual assaults in Brooklyn included the sodomy of an 11-year-old girl in the elevator of her Crown Heights apartment building earlier this month.
The NYPD’s Special Victims Division nabbed Angus Pascall, 33, of Brownsville, Brooklyn, on Tuesday, the day after he allegedly abducted a 20-year-old woman in Crown Heights at gunpoint, forcing her into his car where he raped her.
The woman noted the license plate of the car, leading cops to Pascall, Police Chief Ray Kelly said. He was later picked out of a police lineup.
Pascall also allegedly held a gun on his 11-year-old victim, police said. During that attack, Pascall used an FDNY-issued key to stop the elevator and prevent anyone from interrupting him, Kelly said.
Police said he sexually assaulted five young women and teens going back to 2001. He was charged with rape, sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child.
FDNY officials said Pascall has been suspended without pay as investigation continues.
Pascall was awarded an FDNY citation in 2007 for saving a patient’s life.
