Calgary police are warning citizens after the release of a man in the city after having served a pair of sentences.
Matthew Adrian Boyes, 39, is now in Calgary and being monitored by the Calgary Police High Risk Offender program, after his release from a six month sentence for breaching conditions. Boyes had been initially released July 15, 2009 after serving a six-year sentence for manslaughter.
According to police, Boyes has a history of violent offences against strangers, people known to him and peace officers, and has shown an increase in this behavior when under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
Police describe Boyes as 6’ tall, weighing approximately 210 lbs., with black hair, brown eyes, and a medium complexion.
Boyes was released Friday.
The Calgary Police Service said they are issuing this information and warning after careful deliberation and consideration of all related issues, including privacy concerns, in the belief that it is clearly in the public interest to inform the members of the community of the release of Boyes.
