Female orgasms. Girl-on-girl action. Does size matter? There’s no topic off limits for cyber space series host Jill Clark and her gal pals from www.twentysomethingtv.com— the web’s answer to The View meets Sex And The City.
“I thought of the concept when I was out with a girlfriend,” shares Clark. “It just came to me and after (our) dinner I rushed home and wrote the pitch.”
Two weeks later, the aspiring 26-year-old host and actress befriended producer Brett Heard at an audition.
A spark of chemistry and a chance business card exchange resulted in the pair producing the video website together with Lucky Friday Productions. The end result? A website filled with short, cleanly edited episodic video chick chats and blogs about topics ranging from sex to relationships. And yes fellas, the gloves are off. It’s no holds barred bathroom jibs and jibes.
“I basically created my dream hosting job,” notes the Brock University media communications grad. “I figured it wasn’t happening any other way so I decided to stop waiting for my career to happen and decided to create it myself,” adds Clark, who does double duty as the site’s writer.
Word of mouth, and buzz from YouTube and Facebook have sparked more than a million hits (from both sexes) to the site. Plans to transform the web show into a TV show are also in the pipeline.
Standing in the spotlight is nothing new for Clark, who, in addition to fashion modelling, won a coveted spot on Deal Or No Deal Canada last year.
“I was briefcase 14,” she says.
Being a Blue Jays in-game-host before 30,000 spectators resonates as another career highlight for Clark, who grew up playing baseball in Mississauga.
“(Show business) can be one of the most defeating industries to be a part of, but to be honest it is the only thing I could ever see myself doing,” admits Clark. “If it was easy everyone would do it.”
Meanwhile, Clark and her co-hosts are also doing something for charity by hosting the first annual Breast Cancer Obsessed Event in support of breast cancer research and awareness geared toward 20-somethings.
