How much money did Geno Smith owe IK Enemkpali and why did IK punch him ?

For new Buffalo Bills linkebacker IK Enemkpali, it was about principle. Enemkpalipunched and broke the jaw of Jets quarterback Geno Smith on Tuesday and was promptly released by New York.

Reports of how much money and why Enemkpali punched vary, but the consensus is that Enemkpali purchased a plane ticket for the higher profile Smith to attend his football camp in Plugerville, Texas. Smith did not attend and Enemkpali had been hounding him for reimbursement for awhile, reports said.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that the plane ticket was worth somewhere north of $600. CBS’ Boomer Esiasoninitially reported it was over $1000. ESPN’s JosinaAnderson reported that at one point in training camp, Smith “tried to diffuse the situation” by offering to pay $600 to Enemkpali, which Smith claimed was owed for a plane ticket and car service.

So, maybe the $600 peace offerwas a slap in the face to Enemkpali?
