ICE deports man wanted for human trafficking in Netherlands

Federal authorities said on Thursday the Secure Communities program helped send a Dutch man back to Netherlands, who is wanted in connection with child sex abuse and human smuggling.

Joao Brito, 30, was sent back to the Netherlands and turned over to Dutch authorities who have been seeking him in connection with the allegations.

According to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Brito, was arrested in May by Boston Police and charged in connection with vandalizing a vehicle.

ICE reported Thursday that Suffolk County’s Secure Communities program enabled investigators to share fingerprint information following his arrest that produced a match indicating Brito was in the country illegally since his visa expired in September 2008.

Brito was allegedly under investigation by the Dutch National Police for child exploitation.
