The highly anticipated iPhone X is set to set to hit the shelves on November 3 and at $1,000 it will be Apple’s most expensive phone to date. Aside from the high price people will pay to own the iPhone X, it will also be expensive to have it repaired.

According to Apple, it will cost $279 to repair a broken screen on the iPhone X.  For the iPhone 8 Plus and the iPhone 8, screen repairs will run you $169 and $149 respectively. These prices are for devices that Apple considers  “out-of-warranty.”

If your repairs for your new iPhone fall under Apple’s category of “other damage” be prepared to drop some serious cash for repairs. According to Apple, it will cost you $549 to get it fixed. If you damage your iPhone 8 Plus or iPhone 8, you still have to spend $399 or $349.

The price for repairs come down if you choose to pay for the extended warranty plan AppleCare+, but that means you’ll have to spend an additional $199 upfront plus the cost of the phone, making the iPhone X at least $1200 before taxes and other fees associated with your service provider.

If you accidentally shatter your iPhone X’s screen, you will only have to pay $228 if you’ve purchased AppleCare+ to go along with it. Since the new iPhone X is made with glass on the front and the back you may want to consider the extended warranty if you know you’re prone to dropping it. The cost of repair for the back glass of the iPhone X will run you $298,

According to Apple, the extended warranty will only cover two incidents of accidental damage coverage. If you accidentally damage your phone for the third time, don’t expect AppleCare+ to cover any of the costs of your device.
