Iggy Azalea – Snoop Dogg fight could be on tap at Lakers season opener

By now you’ve likely heard of the Iggy Azalea vs. Snoop Dogg social media beef. Here’s the Cliff’s Notes version in case you’re still in the dark: Snoop is basically saying Iggy looks like a man on Instagram. He also said the Australian rapper looks like Marlon Wayans’ character from the film (yes, FILM) “White Chicks.” It’s as funny as it is mean. Meanwhile, Iggy is taking the high road – although the following Tweet is kinda, sorta alluding to the fact that she is far more relevant in 2014 than Tha Doggfather is.

Like any good boyfriend, Lakers guard Nick Young is protecting his woman on Twitter and he’s apparently not afraid of Snoop in the least bit. Yes, Snoop is literally as peaceful as Willie Nelson these days due to the copious amount of weed he smokes, but there should at least be some hesitation on Young’s part to get involved with the former prince of Death Row records. I mean, Snoop was, once upon a time, accused of murder and he still has many friends in (no pun) high places. Nonetheless, here’s what Young had to say:

Yes, believe it or not Young can lay claim to being nearly as “West” as Snoop. He was born in L.A., went to high school at Cleveland (in Reseda, California) and played college ball at USC (a school Snoop adores). And Young just re-signed with the Lakers this past offseason for something of a hometown discount.

In addition to consistently rocking USC colors, Snoop also attends Lakers games on a semi-regular basis. And no doubt, Iggy will be in the stands attending Young’s games this winter. Could we be in line for a nice stare-down (or more?) live on TNT on Oct. 28, opening night of the 2014-15 NBA season when the Lakers host the Rockets at Staples Center?
