In a fund-raising appeal Tuesday, Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey vowed to take President-elect Donald Trump to court if he seeks to enact some of his campaign promises.

“Donald Trump plans to roll back much of the progress we’ve made in Massachusetts and as a nation,” Healey, a Democrat, wrote in a letter.

It represented an unusually aggressive promise by the first-term state’s attorney. Healey said she would seek to defend any moves by Trump that might undo some of the gains Massachusetts has made in healthcare, gun law and clean energy reform.

“The people’s Lawyer is the first line of defense against illegal action by the federal government and I won’t hesitate to take Donald Trump to court if he carries out his unconstitutional campaign promises,” Healey wrote in her appeal.

Before taking office, Healey led the state Attorney General’s Office Civil Rights Division.
