The last few weeks have been slightly stressful for Nadia Oryema, and not because the 21-year-old university student will be attending Barack Obama’s inauguration in Washington, D.C.
Oryema lost the coveted invite after taking her ticket to an interview in December at a Toronto television station.
“A week later I got a call from the station. It had been on the desk of somebody who was away on vacation.”
It’s not like she needs to show the invite for entry onto D.C.’s National Mall, but having the dark blue cardstock embossed with gold lettering will be a wonderful keepsake for the McMaster University student, who fully appreciates the significance of Jan. 20.
