Inside Look: 7 NYC rooftops with views of the Fourth of July fireworks

Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks will be returning to the East River this year, and that means it’s time to cozy up to your friends with residential views of the festivities.

In the summer, a roof deck (shared, or better yet, private), finally seems like an amenity worth paying for, but on Independence Day it could literally elevate your celebration.

Here are seven buildings with roof decks at different spots along the East River that offer fireworks views without the massive crowds.

Austin Nichols House, Williamsburg

The Austin Nichols House, overlooks the largest stretch of the East River and offers direct access to the East River Ferry. This condo conversion located at 184 Kent Ave. has an interesting past. It was originally built to house the Austin, Nichols & Co. manufacturing plant and, later, the Wild Turkey distribution warehouse. Among its modern amenities is a rooftop sundeck with waterfront and skyline views.

50 North 5th Street, Williamsburg

This new rental building in Williamsburg promises “the ultimate roof deck experience.” Located just north of the Williamsburg Bridge and is parallel to the East Village, it also guarantees great views of the fireworks. Located on the corner of First Street and Fourth Avenue, this new development in Park Slope has both private and shared views – including a common rooftop – that span the East River, Lower Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty. Gantry Park Landing, Long Island City
